Microsoft Access could not be started with the application (code 60)
The window of the starter says: “Microsoft Access could not be started with the application.” Below it stands the error code 60; the diagnostic details (Alt+D) hold the technical detail, also the output of Wkl.Bootstrapper.exe /diagnose. The exit code of the starter is 60.
Environment
WKL Bootstrapper 1.0 and later on Windows 11. Supported: Windows 11 with Microsoft Access of Microsoft 365, 32 bit.
Cause
MSACCESS.EXE could not be started, or it ended within two seconds - for example because it refused the file, a reference of the database is missing, or a policy stopped it.
Resolution
- Start again.
- If it persists, open the copy from the diagnostic details by hand in Access; the message Access shows there names the cause. Send it with the diagnostic details to the administrator of the application.
