Access is not allowed to trust the folder of the application (code 50)
The window of the starter says: “The settings of your organization do not let Access trust the folder of the application.” Below it stands the error code 50; the diagnostic details (Alt+D) hold the technical detail, also the output of Wkl.Bootstrapper.exe /diagnose. The exit code of the starter is 50.
Environment
WKL Bootstrapper 1.0 and later on Windows 11. Supported: Windows 11 with Microsoft Access of Microsoft 365, 32 bit.
Cause
The starter makes the folder of the copies a trusted location of the user. A group policy forbids trusted locations of the user (Allow User Locations = 0) or switches all trusted locations off (AllLocationsDisabled = 1); Access would ask or switch off the code of the application.
Resolution
- The IT sets
%LOCALAPPDATA%\WKL\<Product>\Frontends(with subfolders) as a trusted location by policy; the diagnostic details name the setting that blocks.
