The folder with the application cannot be reached (code 12)

The window of the starter says: “The folder with the application cannot be reached.” Below it stands the error code 12; the diagnostic details (Alt+D) hold the technical detail, also the output of Wkl.Bootstrapper.exe /diagnose. The exit code of the starter is 12.

WKL Bootstrapper 1.0 and later on Windows 11. Supported: Windows 11 with Microsoft Access of Microsoft 365, 32 bit.

app-manifest.json was not found in the folder source names: the share is not reachable (no network, no VPN, no access right), or source points at the wrong folder. A relative source resolves against the starter's folder: after an installation from an MSI package it points into Program Files (x86)\WKL\<product>, where no delivery lies.

1. Check the network connection or the VPN and start again.
2. Open the path from the diagnostic details in Explorer as the same user; if it does not open, the user lacks the right to read the share.
3. If the folder has moved, correct source on the Administration page of the settings.
