How to: Keep sources in folders of your own
Put a kind of source, for example the forms, in a folder that you choose instead of its default location.
Solution overview
A source item in the project file names the files of a kind (Project file reference: Source items). Every command reads them from there, and the export writes them back there.
Steps
- Move the files of the kind into the folder you want, for example the forms into
ui\pages. - In an
ItemGroupof the project file, add a source item:<AccessForm Include="ui\pages\*.form.txt" />. - Optional: if new objects of the kind should go to a folder other than the base folder of the first item, set it in the
PropertyGroup, for example<AccessDefaultFolderForm>ui\pages\new</AccessDefaultFolderForm>. Without it, new forms go toui\pageshere. - Run
wkl-office check Customers.acproj. It names every source file that no item includes. - Build the application, then export it.
Result
The application builds from the new folders, and the export after the build changes no file, so version control shows no changes from it.
