Changes

0.3.1 (not yet delivered)

  • Software bill of materials. The package contains sbom.cdx.json: the SBOM in CycloneDX 1.6 format with the library, its checksum, and the NuGet packages it depends on. Every delivery also includes it as Wkl.Data.Gateway.Client.<version>.sbom.cdx.json.

0.3.0 (October 28, 2026)

Still requires contract 0.6.0. Behavior change for programs that address the service over http on another computer.

  • The client sends the key only over https or to this computer (localhost, 127.0.0.1, ::1), as the ODBC driver does. Startup validation refuses a BaseAddress with http to another computer; if a separately configured HttpClient points there, the request ends with Unauthenticated before it leaves the process. Remedy: set up https.

0.2.1 (October 18, 2026)

Still requires contract 0.6.0.

  • The service's 409 (CONFLICT) and 412 (PRECONDITION_FAILED) arrive as Conflict and PreconditionFailed, no longer as Unavailable. A 409 also occurs on a procedure call when the procedure violates a key or unique index; as Unavailable, it counted as transient (IsTransient) and invited a retry.
  • A BaseAddress with a path but no trailing slash (https://server/dataservice) is resolved correctly. Previously, resolution replaced the last path segment, and requests went to https://server/api/v1/….

0.2.0 (October 15, 2026)

Requires contract 0.6.0. A program that pins client 0.1.0 isn't affected.

  • Contract 0.6.0: A database that SQL Server can't read (DATABASE_UNREADABLE) arrives as DatabaseUnreadable, no longer as Unavailable; IsTransient is false for it.
  • Contract 0.5.0: GatewayProblem.EngineMessages carries the SQL Server messages for a rejection (number, SQLSTATE, severity, text, and whether the text is the one from SQL Server).
  • Contract 0.4.0: A filter can compare one field with another field (GatewayFilter.FieldComparison).
  • Contract 0.3.0: Service timeouts arrive as TimedOut (previously Unavailable).
  • Contract 0.2.0: A read request whose address would be longer than MaxUrlLength travels with its options in the body; a membership test can carry up to 20,000 values.

0.1.0 (August 3, 2026)

  • First version: reading with field selection, filter, sorting, window, and optional count, procedure call, separate time limits for reading and calling, correlation ID, key from the process environment, a normalized error form.
