====== 5.1 New Damage Report ======

New reports are recorded in the "New {{wvds:i18n>pims_damage}}" system. There are generally the following reporting options:

^ Type ^ Description ^
| **To a plant** | Without specifying process unit |
| **To a process unit** | Without specifying equipment |
| **To specific equipment** | With exact equipment designation |

===== Report to a Plant =====

If neither process unit nor equipment is known:
  - Double-click the top tree menu (e.g., A035-Damage Report)
  - Select the reporter
  - Enter the report in the **Damage Report** field

A report without designation can later be assigned a process unit or equipment in the **Correct** tab.

===== Report with Process Unit Designation =====

If the equipment should not be specified exactly (e.g., pump system or pipeline):
  - Select the process unit
  - Specify the reporter
  - Enter and save the damage report

===== Equipment Selection =====

If the equipment is known, there are **3 search options**:

==== 1. Direct Entry ====

In the "What is defective" field, enter the equipment number **without leading letter** with separator point.

==== 2. Equipment Search System ====

In the **Equipment Search** tab, a search system is available for various fields:
  * SAP No. (4 digits without separator)
  * Equipment name (part of the word or entire word)

After selection: Click the **"Accept"** button.

==== 3. Search via Menu Tree ====

  - In the menu, expand the tree by clicking on the Explorer cross
  - Navigate to the desired tree branch by continued selection
  - Selection of available equipment changes accordingly

===== Correct Function =====

An already saved report can be modified with the **Correct** function as long as it is not yet categorized with **M/E/R** or **S**.
