The {{wvds:i18n>pims_lifecycle}} functionality is an **application independent of other data entries**. It operates autonomously.

| **Base Document** | Master data of the {{wvds:i18n>pims_measuring_point}}. A scanned document can be assigned. |
| **Follow-up Document** | Lists the individual locations of a device sequentially. Multiple follow-up documents per base document possible. |
===== {{wvds:i18n>pims_measuring_point}} Assignment =====
A large number of {{wvds:i18n>pims_measuring_point}}s can be assigned to an identification number in the location follow-up document.
All {{wvds:i18n>pims_measuring_point}}s that were entered via a {{wvds:i18n>pims_safety}} or EzA/S list are available as assignable {{wvds:i18n>pims_measuring_point}}s.
The {{wvds:i18n>pims_measuring_point}} selection is made via the **MSRST** field (click in the field and open the combo box).
===== {{wvds:i18n>pims_barcode}} Print =====
To label a device, the following data from the base document can be printed as a **{{wvds:i18n>pims_barcode}}**:
* Identification number
* BAF number
* SAP number
* Year of order
Printing the {{wvds:i18n>pims_barcode}} is **only possible once**. A second printout is prevented.
===== {{wvds:i18n>pims_barcode}} Comparison =====
After reading the {{wvds:i18n>pims_barcode}} in the plant, it can be imported and compared with the current data of the {{wvds:i18n>pims_lifecycle}}. This enables a **target/actual comparison** of the location for a specific device.
