====== 2.6 Reference Motors ======

Instead of searching for motors by parameters (P, I, U, N), **replacement motors according to a defined assignment** can also be displayed.

Motor references (a set of compiled motors) can be created in the database. These motors can be compiled by the {{wvds:i18n>pims_emr}} engineer without considering individual parameters.

===== Compiling References =====

  - In the motor function, open the motor form in search mode via the **"Search/Reference"** button
  - Open the "Reference Motor" form via the **"=..."** button

===== Motor Assignment/Reference Search =====

Reference searches can be performed in two ways:

==== 1. Search by Extended Equipment Number ====

  - Place the cursor in the "extended equipment number" field
  - Open the search function with **Ctrl+F**
  - Enter the extended equipment number and click "next"
  - The assigned motors are displayed in the right field

<note tip>
In the bottom field **"*"**, a new {{wvds:i18n>pims_inventory_nr}} can be assigned. Duplicate assignments are possible.

==== 2. Search by Inventory Number ====

  - Use the **Mode** function to switch between sorting by extended equipment number and {{wvds:i18n>pims_inventory_nr}}
  - After mode change, search for the motor with **Ctrl+F**
  - The extended equipment number is displayed in the left field
  - All associated reference motors are shown in the list field below

===== Deleting a Motor Reference =====

  - Select the {{wvds:i18n>pims_inventory_nr}}
  - Right-click → **Delete record**

<note important>
Entries in the reference system have no effect on the motor data. Deleting the reference {{wvds:i18n>pims_inventory_nr}} does **not** result in deletion of the entire motor record.
</note>

===== Sorting =====

At the bottom of the form, the important motor parameters are displayed. Clicking on the respective parameter changes the sorting order.
